Travel insurance

Whether Chinese citizens travel to Canada or Canadians travel elsewhere, for tourism, visiting relatives and friends, studies, or business, they typically lose access to public healthcare upon leaving their home country. In the event of sudden illness or accidental injury, travelers may face high medical costs; for example, emergency medical services in Canada can be extremely expensive. Therefore, purchasing travel insurance is crucial for mitigating these risks. Travel insurance typically covers medical expenses, emergency evacuation, itinerary changes, loss of personal belongings, accidental injury, and repatriation costs. During the global COVID-19 pandemic, Canada even introduced travel insurance that included COVID-19 treatment costs, providing more comprehensive protection for both domestic and international travelers.
